Hey my beauty lovers
Everyday we go out to live our lives to work, to go out, to exercise and many more activities through our week. Our busy lives leave us with small time frame to do our skin care routine.
During the night before our sleep and in the morning while we get ready, there is one simple and skin changing factor we don’t consider enough.
Especially when it’s around all year long everyday, since the beginning of time. The one and only, Sun – the fiercest star that provides our daily energy and only grows stronger each day.
- Natural ingredients Egyptians and greeks used:
Olive oil
Jasmine extracts
Aloe vera
During the 1980’s, sunscreen research was the most productive as scientists found out about the importance of the UV rays and its devastating effects.
Figuring out each type – how type A is the most harmful and cancerous because it penetrates our second layer of skin, while type B also initiates cancerous consequences and is responsible for sunburns, lastly type C which is not harmful and is present in the early morning.
SPF stands for:
Sun Protection Factor
Types of UV rays
Ultraviolet – A longer wavelength, majoring in skin deterioration and wrinkling.
Ultraviolet – B shorter wavelength , responsible for redness and sunburn.
Ultraviolet – C the shortest of UV, mostly absorbed by the ozone layer.
You might think that you’re safe indoors, but the truth is is that UV rays are ALWAYS strong. If anything, now more than ever because of the high damage on the earth’s ozone layer. Since our ozone layer gets weaker each day the UV rays get stronger. No matter where you are UV rays can even go through an airplane’s titanium. So, if you think that your cap or working indoors will cut it, think again.
We love our skin and we want to lessen our wrinkles. If so, then the best thing you can do for your skin is to wear sunscreen. Not only does the sun initiate premature aging, which happens due to overexposure to UV rays that break the skin’s elasticity resulting in wrinkles and fine lines.
It can also lead to other skin complications like:
· sunspots
· blemishes
· spider veins
· sunburn
· inflammation
· dry skin
· scarring
· freckles.
· Hyper pigmentation
Certain medications due to health issues can make us even weaker to the sun.
The moment of truth, where we clear many doubts and misinformation. Many believe the higher the SPF the better, but not this time. It can vary to situations and sun exposure.
SPF 15 blocks 93% of UVB rays
SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays
SPF 50 blocks 98% of UVB rays
SPF 100 blocks 99% of UVB rays
Yes, they have a very small difference. Most have 1% but that percent adds on depending on the time spent under the sun.
Just because you are wearing sunscreen doesn’t mean you can stand directly under the sun. There isn’t a 100% UV blocking. You should still seek shade and wear accessories for protection like hats and sunglasses. You can’t just rely on sunscreen to do all the work.
Another important step is RE APPLYING, sunscreen 2-4 hours before we sweat it off. The place and time you are is relevant too. I can wear 30 SPF indoors where I won’t sweat or be directly exposed and be protected
If you are going outdoors and you are sure to be outside for a long time it is
recommended a higher level of SPF and re applying often.
Avoid the sun at its highest heat peak from 10am – 4pm
Sunscreen protects our skin proteins and keratin. When they aren’t damaged, these proteins keep our skin looking healthy. That means we should wear our sunscreen under our foundation even if our make-up already has spf. Besides, it provides a better base for our makeup.
Now there is no excuse not to put on sunscreen. Your skin will thank you for years to come. Remember to wear it even if you’re going out just for a few and if you can at home too. That’s all for this time my darlings!
