How it began
Hey, my loves! I know you are wondering why am I posting a blog post about my engagement proposal until now?
Well, the answer is because I think Valentines is the perfect moment for a post this romantic lol.
To be completely honest it took me a while to decide opening myself to all of you. About such a personal and intimate topic in my life. Since we received so much love and positive feedback on my proposal photos. Made me realize everyone is very happy for me❤. All of you gave me immense courage and now I’m very glad to share with all of you a little part of our story.
Rafael and I were friends for a while before dating, we met at the gym. I have to admit that I didn’t feel attracted to him at first, I just thought “Oh that guy is tall” lol. That was the only thing that crossed my mind when I saw him.
As the days went by, we started to train together every other day. Both of us are fully committed to the gym life. Both of us being entrepreneurs was not an easy task, the gym was our free and relax time with such busy schedules. I guess that is why we got along pretty fast.
After a couple months we became those type of friends that kind like each other but have no time to think about dating someone lol. I was always traveling a lot, so we just kept seeing each other at the gym for months and months.
Love Puzzled
One day I had to go away, not for a couple days (which we were used to), but for a couple months. I told him I had to go, and that I’ll see him again at the gym when I came back. He got pretty sad and surprised about me suddenly leaving for that long.
So the next couple of days he started calling me and I couldn’t pick up any of his calls as I was preparing for my long trip and trying to spend time with my family.
When I arrived at my destination and I was all settled. He called me and we spoke a couple times on the phone. One of those times he said to me “ I have been thinking about flying where you are”. So that we can spend time together to get to really know each other for real out of our busy lives.

At that moment I liked him but I didn’t want to open a door for us frankly I didn’t feel ready. I had so many plans by then and thought that maybe spending time with each other will only make us waste time… because nothing for real between us could happen.
We kept on talking on the phone, and I started to contemplate his idea of coming and decided to give us the chance. So he flew where I was and we met in a very beautiful place.
Everything started evolving from there, we were surrounded by nature doing every kind of outdoors activities. We started to have more engaging conversations than the ones we used to have at the gym lol. Eventually, I started to fall for our conversations, his life story and how much of a hard working man he is. We just had so much in common that we totally connected on this trip.
That is how all the pieces came together.
After we started dating for months and being in love and enjoying our lives, we planned a trip to Europe together for four months in advance. I won’t lie to you – I did have a feeling that he was going to propose at some point during the trip lol. I just didn’t know when or how, as we were visiting so many beautiful and romantic places.
So it happened when we were in our second country stop Santorini, Greece. Right after spending a beautiful time exploring Italy.
On Monday the 24th of September (his birthday) He told me to get ready and since it was his birthday. I obviously wanted to look pretty for the celebration. Then when I least expected he took me to have dinner to one of the most beautiful places and proposed. In Imerovigli Santorini, this man made me feel the luckiest girl in the world.
A kind of magic
To be honest, I never dreamt of getting married. Although I always thought that if one day I got engaged to someone and marry them. It would definitely be someone as sweet and special as Rafael.
I cried of happiness when I saw such a beautiful scenario surrounding us while he was proposing. I couldn’t believe I was living a dream! It made me feel very overjoyed. Just to think I was one of those lucky girls that get a dreamy proposal like that. It truly made me feel very blessed and grateful.
We just want to take this opportunity to thank every and each of you. That has sent their love to us in any way through email, comments, DMS, etc.
We are overwhelmed about how many amazing people with beautiful hearts are out there. That wish us nothing but the best.
